East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police say a 39-year-old Blind River man has been charged with intimate partner violence following an investigation into an incident Sept. 14 on Mississauga First Nation, north of Iron Bridge. “As a result of the investigation, OPP learned the involved suspect had committed criminal acts against their partner, police said in a news release Monday. “With the assistance from the OPP’s emergency response team a man was charged Sept. 18”. According to police, the man has been charged with uttering threats causing death or bodily harm, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, 14 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a probation order, four counts of possession of a substance (cocaine) and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The man is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Elliot Lake later.
