Though it’s up to the governing Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) government to call the start of the election campaign, the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) has announced it is planning to officially launch its campaign on Aug. 27. The Liberals say they will kick off their campaign in the Capitale-Nationale region next Thursday, adding that they are also setting up their campaign headquarters in the area. The party says it plans to then travel to Sherbrooke for an official launch that evening, campaigning under the slogan “Rassembler. Réparer. Bâtir” (Unite. Repair. Build). In addition, Liberal Leader Charles Milliard is expected to make an economic announcement in Lévis on Friday. All the political parties have been gearing up ahead of the imminent launch of the election campaign, including announcing their candidates and rolling out their promises.
