A vehicle was set on fire in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough early Wednesday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 4 a.m. about the incident on Couture Boulevard near Larin Street. “When the police arrived at the scene, the fire had already been put out by a citizen,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “The damage to the car is minor and there is no damage to the property.” Some incendiary materials were found on site. “According to the first information obtained from a witness, a suspect would have been seen setting fire to the vehicle and then fleeing the scene before the arrival of police,” said Chèvrefils. The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
