An eyesore for residents at 234 Edgevalley Road, a massive pile of garbage they say has to go. “We need a permanent solution,” said resident Rana Nissan. “We can’t live like this.” Nissan has lived in the complex since 2024 and said the mess has been an issue since she moved in. “People from surrounding areas as well, they just come and dump their garbage and leave,” said Nissan. “I see it all the time.” She said a private junk removal company comes during the week and picks up the trash but it piles up quickly. “They don’t come during the weekend and it looks like this during the night time,” said Nissan. “They come in the morning and pick it up so basically we need someone 24 hours just to clean people’s garbage and it attracts a lot of animals during the night.” Residents told CTV News there are often items like tables, chairs, and even mattresses being dumped. “Sometimes the garbage is piled up so high we can’t get to my car,” said Nissan. “We have to go through the passenger side.” London city councillor Peter Cuddy said he’s been in contact with the property management company, Reed Condominium Management Solutions, since last year. “We came to a solution that they would do a better job managing it,” said Cuddy. “That didn’t happen.” Nissan says she’d like to see the management company step in and do something. The property management company said it’s looked into installing security cameras to help deter illegal dumping, but it’s not financially possible. “We don’t have a pest issue, we don’t have a rodent issue, we don’t have an insect issue,” said Laurie Reed, CEO and President of Reed Condominium Management Solutions. “At the end of the day the board is doing its best to make sure the garbage is collected without having a serious financial impact on residents.” Cuddy said more needs to be done “I’m going to go back to speak to city staff about capping it permanently and then moving it,” he said. “This can’t go on.”
