Off-duty officer helps residents evacuate house fire

An off-duty officer in Strathroy helped residents evacuate from a house fire.

On June 2 around 10 p.m., the officer was in the north end of the city when he saw flames coming out of a building. He called 911 and immediately helped those inside out to safety.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished after firefighters arrived on scene. No injuries were sustained.

Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service is now recognizing Const. Brandon Buck for his role in the fire.
