The London Knights evened up the season series with rival Sarnia Sting Friday night at Canada Life Place. Sarnia would strike first early, just two minutes into the first period, before London came back with two goals in the span off 29 seconds off sticks from Cohen Bidgood and Thomas Zocco. Jack Van Volsen would tie things up for the Sting late in the first. The teams would go into the third period tied 3-3, that’s when London came out with three unanswered goals in quick succession. Juho Piiparinen gave the Knights the lead just 4:19 into the period, and Thomas Zocco would get his second goal of the game just 18 seconds later, to make it a 5-3 game and chasing Sarnia goaltender Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko. Knights rookie Kane Barch, who hails from Grand Bend, would give the Knights the insurance marker they needed a few minutes later to make it 6-3. That goal ended up being just what they needed as Sarnia’s Tyler Challenger would score with two minutes left in regulation to make it just a two-goal game. London would hold on, winning the game by a final score of 6-4. The Knights hit the road Saturday to take on the Owen Sound Attack, puck drop is at 7 p.m.
