Drivers are once again being warned not to keep valuables inside their cars. Waterloo Regional Police said 43 thefts from vehicles or attempted break-ins were reported in Cambridge between June 30 and July 24. Nine of those happened on or near Concession Road, between Eagle Street North and Langs Drive. Five were in the Franklin Boulevard and Winston Boulevard area, and another five at Arthur Fach Drive and Coulthard Boulevard. “Many of the incidents occurred overnight, with suspects targeting vehicles parked in residential driveways,” a media release said. “Investigators have determined that a significant number of the vehicles involved had been left unlocked.” To increase awareness, Waterloo Regional Police have kicked off a two-week campaign called “Lock It or Lose It.” “Members of the South Division CSAR Unit and Waterloo Regional Police Auxiliary members will attend neighbourhoods affected by these incidents to promote crime prevention,” they said. “Officers and Auxiliary members will distribute educational materials and engage with residents about vehicle security.” Police also shared some advice for drivers:
