Waterloo Regional Police pitched in to put out flames at a Kitchener encampment. A tent fire broke out along Victoria Street North around 11:45 a.m. on Monday. The Kitchener Fire Department said five of their vehicles were dispatched to the scene, but police officers were already on site and used a fire extinguisher to put it out. “Our pump crew continued extinguishment with a pressurized water extinguisher,” the city said in a media release. According to first responders, the fire was contained to only one tent. No one was hurt.
