Waterloo Regional Police have charged the driver of a vehicle that struck an LRT train on Wednesday. The collision happened as the train was travelling along King Street West, near Green Street, around 6:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man from outside Waterloo Region, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Waterloo Regional Police said he was later charged with careless driving and turn not in safety. The crash closed King Street West for several hours for the police investigation and repairs.
