A Red Deer man is facing charges after allegedly stealing a car at gunpoint during a test drive in the central Alberta city. Mounties responded to a 911 call about the theft at 11:26 a.m. on Tuesday. The man showed the gun to a dealership employee towards the end of a test drive, according to RCMP, before ordering the employee to get out of the car. The employee obeyed, and the driver allegedly took off at a high rate of speed. Multiple police resources were deployed, and a 33-year-old man was arrested. “Despite the vehicle being driven at speeds up to 165 kilometres per hour, the vehicle was recovered and no injuries were sustained,” police said in a news release.
