Frost advisory issued for parts of southern Ontario as temperatures near freezing

A frost advisory has been issued for parts of southern Ontario, including Waterloo Region, with Environment Canada warning that patchy frost could develop overnight into Sunday morning.

Forecasters said temperatures are expected to fall close to the freezing mark, creating conditions that could damage sensitive plants, trees and crops in frost-prone areas.

Residents are being encouraged to cover outdoor plants or bring them indoors where possible to help prevent frost damage.

The advisory comes after a stretch of milder spring weather across the region. Environment Canada said gardeners and growers should continue monitoring forecasts as temperatures fluctuate during the spring season.
