A young father has been arrested in an attack that critically injured his two-month-old baby, according to Port Alberni RCMP.
Warren Alfred Baader, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault and was expected to appear in a Port Alberni courtroom Wednesday.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but police say Mounties were called by West Coast General Hospital on Friday after an infant arrived in medical distress.
The baby was later transferred to BC Children’s Hospital where it was determined to have been critically injured.
Port Alberni RCMP’s General Investigation Section is now investigating, and declined to comment further on the incident.
