The Telus World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE) saw significant flooding to its main floor following a deluge Friday evening. Marketing director Kyla Amrhein said senior staff heard word of a significant amount of water in the main floor of the building shortly before 8 p.m. Friday. “It came in very, very quickly,” said Amrhein, adding that visitors and staff were evacuated safely. “We had crews of no less than 10 people working, 24/7. At this point, we have anywhere from 20 to 30 folks on site, experts doing the remediation and the assessment,” Amrhein told CTV News Edmonton Sunday. There were also some isolated areas on the top floor that were affected by the flood. TWOSE has cancelled programming, including summer camps until at least Friday but expect to get more information on when they can reopen in the coming days. “It’s our favourite time of year because the facility is full of laughter and kids just having a great time exploring science,” said Amrhein.
