A man is dead after he lost control and was thrown from his Smart Car in south Edmonton on Tuesday. Police said the 42-year-old man driving a 2006 Smart Car was speeding on 91 Street near 23 Avenue at around 9:10 p.m. when he tried to pass traffic using the right shoulder. The man lost control at the end of the shoulder at the Anthony Henday Drive overpass. The car rolled multiple times, police said, and the man was ejected. He was declared dead at the scene. Police said speed was a factor in the crash. Anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of the crash is asked to contact police.
