Edmonton Heritage Festival What organizers call the world’s largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism is back at newly renovated William Hawrelak Park on Saturday through Monday. It’s the 53rd year of the event. Attendance details, including a menu of diverse bites, can be found online. Edmonton Stingers vs. Saskatoon Mamba They’ve clinched a Canadian Elite Basketball League playoff spot, but there are still two regular season games left for the Edmonton Stingers. They’ll face the Saskatoon Mamba, who are third in the Western Conference, at the Edmonton Expo Centre on Friday night. The Edmonton Stingers are a game and a half behind the Saskatoon Mamba. Leading the West are the Vancouver Bandits and in second, the Winnipeg Sea Bears. Big Valley Jamboree It’s big, it’s in a valley, it’s a real jamboree. It’s also not in Edmonton – but you may want to make the trip to Camrose for headliners Old Dominion, Riley Green and Keith Urban. The festival began Thursday and runs through Sunday. Tickets are still available online. Pigeon Lake Music Festival Tickets are almost completely sold out to the all-ages outdoor music event southwest of Edmonton that will headline The Sheepdogs, The Tea Party, The Trews and more. Regular Friday and Sunday passes were still available online as of Friday morning. Polynesian Days at Alberta Beach The more-than-50-year-old Alberta Beach tradition is back and will begin with colouring contests, scavenger hunts and business decoration competitions on Friday evening. The parade and more family friendly activities continue throughout the August long weekend.
