Folk fest reveals 2026 lineup

The lineup for this year's Folk Fest includes Of Monsters and Men, Nathaniel Rateliff and Cat Power. CTV News Edmonton's Curtis Goodrum reports.

Cat Power, Nathaniel Rateliff, Thee Sacred Souls, Arrested Development and Of Monsters and Men will be headlining the 46th Edmonton Folk Music Festival this year.

Corb Lund, the southern Alberta country musician petitioning against coal mining in the Rocky Mountains, is also among the artists announced for the Aug. 6-9 event at Gallagher Park on Thursday.

Jeremie Albino, Courtney Marie Andrews, Ocie Elliott and The Milk Carton Kids will also be returning.

“The festival is in great shape,” said the festival’s artistic director Terry Wickham at a press conference Thursday. “Funding is great. Not everyone can say that.

“The world is full of great folk music, we only touch the surface of it.”

Among the new-to-Edmonton Folk Music Festival artists are Dove Ellis, an indie-folk musician from Ireland; American indie-rock group Fantastic Cat; Brian Leseney Fennell, who is known as Syml; and Latin American-influenced band Buyepongo; Iceland’s Ásgeir Trausti; and the R-’N’-B and soul trio known as The Womack Sisters.

Tickets go on sale June 6.

Adult weekend passes cost $244, $10 more than in 2025 and 2024.
