Voting is open for WestJet flight attendants on a tentative agreement reached with the airline earlier this month. CUPE Local 8125, the union representing 4,400 flight attendants with the Calgary-based airline, fought for workers to be paid from the time they check in until they clock out, instead of just the time when their aircraft is in motion. Flight attendants walked off the job on Aug. 2, prompting the cancellation of hundreds of flights. The following day, it was announced a tentative deal had been reached, ending the strike. The ratification vote began on Monday and closes at 2 p.m. MT on Aug. 24. CUPE has unanimously recommended that members vote in favour of ratifying the tentative agreement.
