A stable weather pattern is emerging that will produce at least a week of above seasonal temperatures. Calgary is expecting a high of 18 C on Friday, and that will be one of the cooler highs until next weekend. A ridge of high pressure has moved in from the Pacific basin to sit over the western Prairies. Warm air will continue to funnel across the central and southern portions of British Columbia and over the Rockies, with very little risk of instability for the next seven to 10-days. Some light and scattered precipitation fell overnight Thursday and early Friday in southeastern B.C. and southern Alberta, but accumulations were mostly minimal. This is likely to occur again on Friday night and early Saturday, but most of the moisture will be squeezed out before that air mass reaches the mountains. Daytime highs will range from 19 C to 24 C from Sunday to next Friday, with overnight lows between 6 C to 8 C. The normal range in Calgary this time of year is 15 C for a high and 1 C for a low.
