Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 39 near Yellow Grass on Friday. Milestone RCMP received the report around 9:30 a.m., with investigation determining two SUVs collided, according to an update from Saskatchewan RCMP just after 4 p.m. The drivers of both vehicles, a 45-year-old man from Saskatoon and a 76-year-old man from the United States, were declared dead at the scene. RCMP say their families have been notified. A woman, who was a passenger in one of the SUVs, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and Milestone RCMP continue to investigate. In a news release Friday morning, RCMP reported officers were on scene of a serious crash, around one kilometre west of the community of Yellow Grass. RCMP did not provide any additional details in their first update as the preliminary stages of the investigation have begun. The highway was closed for an extended period but has since been reopened. Saskatchewan RCMP say there have been 47 fatal collisions, with 58 fatalities in its jurisdiction in 2026.
