The snow is here, and it’s calling in backup before it’s done

The snow will intensify in Calgary on Tuesday morning and early in the afternoon. While the snow will be done Wednesday, the cold won't.

We already had a wintry blast Monday night, but Tuesday is set to be more intense.

Stay off the roads if possible, as visibility in southern Alberta can drop to 0 km at times.

The snow will intensify in Calgary on Tuesday morning and early in the afternoon.

Fifteen to 25 centimetres of snow is possible, combined with wind gusts up to 70 km/h.

This will create blizzard-like conditions at times.

The temperature will continue to drop throughout the day from -11 C (with a wind chill of -22) in the morning to -17 C (with a wind chill of -27) in the afternoon.

The snow should taper off to on/off flurries after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

A few flurries could carry into Wednesday morning.

While the snow will be done Wednesday, the cold won’t.

Tuesday to Thursday will be frigid.

The cold will get a little more reasonable on Friday.
