An investigation is underway into a single-vehicle collision Friday night in southwest Calgary that left one man dead. At around 8 p.m., police say a man in his 20s was driving south in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am on Tsuut’ina Trail S.W. approaching 90th Avenue S.W. when the vehicle went off the road and hit the concrete base of a sign pole. First responders were able to get the driver out of the vehicle and transported him to hospital, where he later died. He was the only person involved in the crash. Police said that speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234.
