The federal government is set to make an infrastructure announcement in Calgary at the site of one of the largest projects the city has ever seen. Calgary MP Corey Hogan will be making the announcement with Mayor Jeromy Farkas at 11 a.m. Details have not been released, but the news comes amid construction on the new Bearspaw feeder main. Last week, crews recently completed microtunneling on Stage A of the project and more than one kilometre of pipeline has already been installed in Bowness. Officials expect there will be a return to Stage 4 water restrictions this fall as crews work to connect the new pipe to the old system. However, the city says the entire project remains on budget and on schedule to be finished by the end of this year.
