A Barrie man, 21, is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police three times. Police say on Tuesday night at 10:50, an officer noticed a vehicle speeding through a red light at Anne Street and Essa Road. The officer tried to pull over the vehicle but as the officer got out of the police cruiser, the vehicle took off without its lights on, according to police. A different officer noticed the same vehicle with its lights off and maneuvering dangerously around Patterson Road and Ardagh Road not long after. At that point, police say they noticed the vehicle was significantly damaged at the side. When that officer tried to pull over the vehicle, it allegedly sped away again. According to authorities, minutes later, an officer spotted the vehicle around Essa Road and Veterans Drive and for the third time, fled when the officer tried to pull it over. Police say in all three instances, the vehicle was speeding excessively and running through red lights. By 11:30 around the Beacon Road area, officers managed to stop the vehicle and charge the driver. The accused is facing flight from officer, failure to stop after accident, dangerous operation, driving while under suspension and driving a motor vehicle without proper headlights.
