As families dig into their Thanksgiving feasts and celebrations, the County of Simcoe and its municipalities are reminding residents about what services are affected by the holiday. Simcoe County There will be no change to standard and yard waste collection. All county waste drop-off facilities will be closed Monday. The lone exception is the Matchedash Waste Drop-off, which will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday. There will be no LINX Transit services except for Route 4, which will run on a Sunday schedule. The County Administration Centre, Ontario Works and Children Services, and the Simcoe County Archives will be closed on Monday. The Simcoe County Museum and Lake Simcoe Regional Airport will be open. Barrie Just like the county, there will be no changes to the City of Barrie Monday waste collection schedule. There will be no Barrie Transit service on Monday. City Hall, recreation and community centres will be closed. Downtown parking on streets and in lots will be free on Monday, but waterfront parking will continue being enforced. Orillia There will be no waste or green bin collection on Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day and regular service will resume next Monday. Recycling will also be delayed by one day. All other City of Orillia will be closed on Monday, including recreation centres, the Orillia Opera House, Leacock Museum, and the Orillia Public Library. Other GO service will run on a Saturday schedule on Monday. Most grocery stores across the province will be closed on Monday, and all LCBO locations will be closed. Convenience stores that are licensed to sell alcohol are permitted to continue doing so. Georgian Mall will be closed on Monday.
