Section of Springwater trail closed after reports of erosion damage

A stretch of the Hunter Russell Trail in Springwater has been closed due to erosion damage, says the township.

The closure affects the section between Green Pine Park and Wattie Road.

Township staff say they investigated the area and determined that it is unsafe for the public and will close the trail until further notice.

Officials are continuing to assess damage and explore repair options.

Visitors can still access the trail from Cairns Boulevard to Green Pine Park, and from north of Findlay Mill Road to Doran Park.

Residents are being asked to avoid the closed section. A timeline for reopening has not yet been announced.
