Police have pressed a number of charges against a Barrie man after an investigation downtown. On Wednesday, Barrie police say the drug and the high garm units conducted an investigation downtown, in the area of Mulcaster Street, between McDonald Street and Codrington Street. Around 6 p.m., police say they found a man in possession of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and prescription pills. Police claim the value of the drugs seized is estimated to be $40,000. Police also found an additional $18,000 in cash in his possession and an e-bike. A 38-year-old Barrie man now faces nine charges, including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance.
