A 32-year-old from Alliston has been charged with impaired driving after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel. On Friday morning just after 10, the Nottawasaga OPP says it received a report of a driver stopped and asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Young Street and Industrial Parkway in Alliston. Officers say when they arrived on scene, they could smell cannabis and started an impaired driving investigation. The driver was charged with operation while impaired by drugs and failure to properly wear a seatbelt. Their licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
