Owen Sound man faces impaired driving charges

An Owen Sound man is facing charges after Owen Sound Police conducted a traffic stop in the early morning traffic stop on April 3.

According to police, a traffic stop was conducted in the area of 700 block of 2nd Avenue East.

During the stop, the man was found to have consumed an unknown quantity of alcohol and was required to provide a breath sample using a roadside screen device which resulted in a fail.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with a blood concentration exceeding the legal limit.

The man refused to provide another breath sample to a qualified breath technician at the police station and now faces additional charges.

The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result.
