Motorcyclist airlifted after colliding with pickup in south Barrie

One man has been sent to a trauma centre after an early morning collision in south Barrie.

Police say the call for a two-vehicle collision came in shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, in the area of Churchill Road near Welham Road.

According to police, a motorcycle and a pickup truck towing a flatbed collided, resulting in critical injuries for the motorcyclist.

The 21-year-old rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre, police say.

The road was closed for investigation, but has since reopened.
