For residents of Barrie, the warmth and humidity will continue going into Friday. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says there is a 30 per cent chance of showers with a risk of thunderstorms between 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. ECCC says at noon, that chance doubles, increasing to 60 per cent chance of showers with a risk of thunderstorms, before finally decreasing around 6 p.m. Wind speeds are expected to be a maximum of 15 km/h and Barrie’s daytime high is expected to reach 26. Humidex levels will reach 34 and the UV index remains high at six, similar to Thursday. In the evening, the chance of showers will decrease to 40 per cent and as the daytime low is 19 degrees, the weather agency residents can expect fog patches to develop overnight.
