For Barrie residents, the day began with dense cloud cover and some precipitation, however, relief is in sight. According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), cloudy conditions will remain Wednesday, until 11 a.m. Residents can expect a risk of thunderstorms in the earlier hours of the morning, but by 8 a.m., the risk diminishes and chances of precipitation drop from 60 per cent to 20 per cent, ECCC says. By 1 p.m., the weather agency says the UV index will increase to 7, by which time the cloud cover will completely clear out. From 2 p.m. onwards ECCC says conditions are expected to remain clear for the rest of the day. Residents can expect a daytime high of 22 C and low of 12 C, with a humidex of 26.
