A second teen charged with assault following a violent incident at a Barrie park earlier this week, that included the use of a drywall saw according to police, has been granted bail. The 14-year-old, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released to his mother Friday afternoon in Barrie on a $2,000 pledge and curfew conditions. His 15-year-old co-accused was released from custody Wednesday. He is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The boys were arrested earlier this week following what Barrie police described as an assault at Lampman Lane park in Letitia Heights that involved a 36-year old man being allegedly attacked by the teens who got into an argument with his children, aged 16 and 12. Police said one of the accused used a drywall saw in the attack. The victims suffered what investigators described as minor injuries. Police confirmed a balaclava was recovered along with a sheath believed to belong to the drywall saw. The teens, who have other matters before the court, return to a youth courtroom in July. The allegations against them have not been tested in court.
