$350K Crossword win at Zehrs in Barrie’s south end

Annie A. of Barrie is celebrating after winning a $350,000 top prize with a CROSSWORD EXTREME SCRATCH ticket.

“I’ve been playing the lottery with OLG for several years, and this is my first big win,” said Annie while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings.

“CROSSWORD is my go-to game. I like it because you can take your time with it — it’s like a puzzle,” she said.

Annie was about to leave the Zehrs on Yonge Street in Barrie one afternoon when she decided to pick up her usual tickets.

“I sat down to play them at home later that day. On the first one I scratched, I won $75 and was thrilled.

“When I played the next one, I couldn’t believe it. I scanned my ticket and saw that I had won $350,000. I jumped up and started pacing with excitement.”

Annie said her husband was sitting next to her when she found out about her win. “He was in disbelief,” she said. “It still doesn’t feel real.”

With her windfall, she looks forward to helping her children, saving for the future, and planning for retirement.

CROSSWORD EXTREME is available for $30 a play and the top prize is $350,000.
