Prince Edward Island is already seeing flu cases and hospitalizations this season, according to the provincial government. The province is encouraging residents to book free vaccination appointments for flu, COVID-19 or RSV. “These programs help protect people, reduce serious illness, and ease pressure on our health-care system,” said Health and Wellness Minister Cory Deagle in a news release. “I encourage Islanders to book their appointments early and take advantage of the protection available this fall.” All infants age eights or younger are eligible for Beyfortus, a long-acting monoclonal antibody that provides season-long protection from RSV.
