A prominent former Nova Scotia judge has died. The Nova Scotia judiciary says former Supreme Court Justice Peter Richard died on Sunday. A business owner in the 1950s, Richard served a term on Halifax Council before heading to law school. He focused on hospital law for the first part of his career before being appointed to the bench in 1978 and became best known for acting as sole commissioner on the Westray Inquiry in 1992.
