At a launch party in downtown Halifax, Neptune Theatre announced its 2026–2027 season featuring a lineup of musicals, comedies, classics and contemporary works built around the theme “No Day But Today.” “Our 2026–2027 season is packed with audacity and heart,” said Jeremy Webb, artistic director of Neptune Theatre. “These are stories about living fully, loving fiercely, and showing up for one another – sometimes loudly, sometimes tenderly, but always truthfully.” The season opens with the Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT and closes with Les Misérables, the long-running global musical phenomenon. In between, Neptune is programming a mix of comedy, drama and new takes on well-known titles, including Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, Little Women (a Canadian premiere of a new adaptation), Six Degrees in May, Women of the Fur Trade, Deepwater and Vanya (a solo interpretation of Chekhov’s work featuring Daniel MacIvor.) For the holidays, Neptune says Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will return, and Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! will make its Neptune debut. Subscriptions go on sale at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
