A link between Halifax and Dartmouth, N.S., was closed Sunday afternoon. The Macdonald Bridge shut down shortly after 3 p.m. when scaffolding fell onto the road. A spokesperson for Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) said scaffolding that was secured and stored on a platform above the bridge shifted in the wind, resulting in some pieces falling. HHB said a passing car was damaged, but no one was injured. “The bridge was closed immediately, and crews are cleaning up and securing the scaffolding,” said the spokesperson in an email to CTV News.
