Environment Canada issued two emergency alerts for Nova Scotia on Sunday. A yellow warning for heavy rain was issued for Digby, Shelburne and Annapolis counties. Total rainfall between 30 and 50 millimetres is expected with higher amounts possible locally, said the alert. Localized flooding could occur because of frozen ground and poor drainage, it continued. The rain is expected to begin Monday afternoon and last until Tuesday afternoon. A second yellow warning was issued for high wind in Inverness County north of Mabou.
