Two Charlotte County men plead guilty in connection with home invasion: N.B. RCMP

Two men appeared in Saint John provincial court Friday in connection with a home invasion in Oak Bay, N.B., last year.

Officers with the St. Stephen RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion around 8:15 p.m. on April 8, 2025. Police say five people forcefully gained entry to the residence while the homeowners were present.

“One individual was armed with a weapon and assaulted one of the homeowners, who suffered minor injuries. The suspects fled the scene with undisclosed medications prior to police arrival,” reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP.

“A short time later, two RCMP officers were returning from a community meeting when they came across the fleeing suspects.”

According to police, the officers exited their vehicle and arrested four men from Charlotte County, ages 22, 62, 29, and 19. A 20-year-old Saint John woman was also arrested on a later date.

Miles Johnson Jr, 22, was charged with robbery, break and enter and uttering threats on April 11, 2025. He was released from custody with an ankle monitoring device and a house curfew.

Johnson Jr, now 23-years-old, appeared in court again on Friday. He pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit a criminal act and to a charge of uttering threats against a person. A charge of aggravated theft has been withdrawn.

He has been placed in pre-trial detention and is scheduled to appear in court on May 26 for sentencing.

Miles Burton Johnson, now 63-years-old, also appeared in court Friday. He pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit a criminal act and assault with a weapon. A charge of aggravated theft has been withdrawn. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on May 26 for sentencing.
