St. Stephen, N.B., man sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison for drug offences: RCMP

A St. Stephen, N.B., man will spend nearly a decade in prison following drug trafficking investigations, according to the RCMP.

Police say they launched two investigations in December 2024 and February 2026. They later charged Michael Ryan Foster, 43, with multiple drug-related offences.

They also seized roughly $37,000 worth of fentanyl and $6,900 worth of methamphetamine, according to an RCMP news release.

On Thursday, Foster was sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison at the Saint John provincial court. He also received a lifetime firearms ban.

“Fentanyl remains one of the most potent and dangerous illicit drugs impacting our communities today,” said Sgt. Pierre Ladouceur of the St. Stephen RCMP in the release. “Even small quantities can have devastating and potentially fatal consequences.”
