Two people are recovering after the vehicle they were in slid down an embankment in North Saanich on Saturday morning.

Emergency responders rushed to the single-vehicle crash on McTavish Road around 11 a.m.

The two people were trapped inside the vehicle until crews arrived.

The driver and passenger were both conscious and responsive.

They were taken to hospital for an injury assessment.

A tow truck was called in to pull the vehicle out of the embankment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
