A 15-year-old girl is traumatized but not physically hurt after a frightening attack in Nanaimo.

The teen was jogging at around 8 p.m. on Country Club Road Friday night when she was grabbed by an unknown man who tried to pull her into bushes, but she managed to fight him off and run.

Investigators say his description is similar to a man believed to be involved in an assault three weeks ago in Nanaimo's south end, and they are checking to see if there is a link.

A safety bulletin has also been posted at the University of Victoria after a woman jogging on a campus trail was grabbed by a man on a bicycle on Saturday, but the man rode away after the assault and has not been arrested.
