A man was taken to hospital on Sunday after he was rescued from a ravine in Metchosin.

The Metchosin Fire Department responded to a call of a man in distress around 3:30 p.m.

The man had fallen down a ravine on Parry Cross Road.

According to officials, the man was reported missing on Friday.

Neighbours had been out searching the area and found him on Sunday afternoon.

The man was in a semi-conscious state when paramedics were assessing him, officials say.

Metchosin fire says there are concerns the man may have suffered hypothermia because he wasn’t dressed for the weather.

RCMP officers, paramedics and Sooke fire's rope rescue team assisted with the rescue.
