Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a 79-year-old man who was last seen on Saturday morning.

Police say Peter Dickinson has significant health issues and suffers from dementia.

He left his care home facility on Machleary Street on Saturday and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Dickinson doesn’t have a cell phone nor does he have access to a vehicle, police say.

According to police, he could be heading to Port Hardy where several of his friends live.

Dickinson is described as 5’7”, 140 pounds and has very thin grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants and black sneakers. He may also be wearing a baseball cap.

The 79-year-old has a blue backpack with him, which contains several changes of clothes.

Anyone who sees Dickinson is asked to call 911 or Nanaimo RCMP at (250) 754-2345.
