A Saanich woman is facing a number of charges after she deliberately collided with several vehicles, including police cruisers, on Saturday.

Police received a report of a female driver that had intentionally crashed into another vehicle in the 1500-block of Church Street around 10:30 p.m., causing injuries to the other driver.

The woman in the mid-size hatchback fled the scene before police arrived.

Police in Victoria and Oak Bay reported seeing the same vehicle and driver driving dangerously in their jurisdictions and purposely hitting other vehicles.

The hatchback then re-appeared in Saanich and police officers attempted to stop it, but it crashed into a ditch and the woman tried to run away.

She was arrested a short while later and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“With the amount of occupied vehicles hit by the female driver it is amazing that nobody suffered any major injuries during this situation,” said Cst. Damian Kowalewich.

A Saanich woman, described as being in her 40’s, is facing numerous criminal charges including hit-and-run, dangerous driving, causing police pursuit and assaulting a police officer.
