COMOX VALLEY - Residents of the Comox Valley Regional District can all breathe a sigh of relief, and stop boiling water.

The CVRD and Island Health have lifted the boil water advisory, which kicked in December 11, 2014.

Areas affected were the City of Courtenay, the Town of Comox, and the Comox Valley, Arden, Marsden/Camco, Greaves Crescent and England Road service areas.

Island Health is recommending that you follow these steps now that it's been lifted:
- Flush all water fixtures for one minute
- Run cold-water faucets and drinking fountains for one minute
- Drain and flush ice making machines in your fridge
- Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle
- Drain and refill hot water tanks set below 45 C
- Change pre-treatment filters

Visit the district's site for more information.
