A massive ice breaker is due to arrive in Victoria's harbour on Saturday, ending a 150-day long journey exploring Canada's coastline.

The Polar Prince has been travelling 23,000 kilometres, visiting 75 communities between Toronto and Victoria, via the Northwest Passage.

More than 400 people have climbed aboard the ship over the course of Canada C3 -- or Coast to Coast to Coast -- including community leaders, musicians, chefs, scientists and other curious Canadians.

Federal ministers are expected to make an announcement about Canada's marine conservation targets after welcoming the Polar Prince to Victoria Harbour around noon.
