The City of Winnipeg is closing some streets this weekend to make way for Santa’s sleigh. Starting Saturday at 11 a.m., Portage Avenue will close in both direction between St. Mary Avenue and Main Street to facilitate the 2025 Manitoba Hydro Santa Claus Parade. The city said to expect limited access to Portage Avenue at northbound and southbound cross streets. It also cautioned northbound Main Street will close late Saturday afternoon from William Stephenson Way to Portage Avenue as the parade makes it way through Portage and Main. Complete road closures starting at 11 a.m. Saturday include: No through traffic, limited parking The city said to expect limited parking access and no through traffic at Portage Avenue between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Those areas are: The Santa Claus Parade begins at 5 p.m. Saturday.
