A 24-year-old Beausejour man is dead after a vehicle rolled over in the R.M. of St. Clements early Sunday morning. Selkirk RCMP responded to the intersection of Highway 44 and Floodway Drive at 12:31 a.m. after receiving an iPhone crash notification. According to a news release, officers found a vehicle in a nearby field with “damages consistent with being in a rollover.” Paramedics were already treating the vehicle’s two occupants when Mounties arrived. RCMP said a STARS helicopter airlifted the 24-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, to the hospital but he later died from his injuries. The lone passenger, an 18-year-old woman from West St. Paul, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Mounties are investigating the crash.
