Windsor police have arrested a 29-year-old man who was named to the “Wanted in Windsor” list earlier this year. In July 2024, Alwassi Al Latif allegedly forced a male victim into a vehicle and transported him to another location, where the person was assaulted, threatened, and robbed. Police say at the time of these alleged offences, Al Latif was serving a conditional sentence requiring him to remain in Ontario and comply with electronic monitoring. In October 2024, he was granted permission to travel outside the province without the monitoring device, and had since evaded apprehension. On Aug. 24, 2026, Al Latif turned himself in at Windsor Police Headquarters. He faces charges including forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, extortion (x 2), and uttering death threats (x 5).
